Ecoprinting is a process of extracting natural pigments and tannins from leaves, flowers and plants. They are transferred on natural fabrics, such as silk, using pressure, moisture and heat. Spend three hours in my studio and learn how to make a successful botanical print on a silk scarf. You will learn my techniques of making a tight bundle, which ensures good detail in your print. I will teach you how I organize my work flow, what tools and materials I use to make a successful print. We will make a basic botanical print using iron blanket. When starting with ecoprinting, it is important to understand the basic principles and start simple. Once you are comfortable with the basics, you can expand upon and make more complicated prints. In this workshop, you will not only learn something, but also will leave with the completed, ecoprinted silk scarf that you can wear!
All materials are provided, just show up with rolled up sleeves and enthusiasm! Class size is limited, so please don’t wait to sign up!
