A Burst of Red

Size: approximately 11 x 58 inches

Materials: 100% silk habotai (shiny, flowing natural fabric), mordant, flowers, leaves.

This scarf is one-of-a-kind piece. Every step is done by hand, using the process of mordanting that ensures light-fastness and natural color adherence to the fabric. I use the selection of leaves that I source locally in my garden and the surrounding area. Each leaf produces a unique impression (if you look closely, you can see and even feel the veins of some leaf prints.) The combination of natural dye as well as natural tannins and pigments of leaves creates beautifully unique result that is unrepeatable, like the nature itself!

Colors: I take every attempt to represent the colors in the photos as closely as possible. However, please note that the natural sheen of silk plays with light in a variety of ways at different angles—there may be a slight shift of color, depending on the light conditions. I view it as a unique and beautiful quality of this material. Also, differences in color settings of the screen on your device may create a slightly different color experience for you.

The scarf comes wrapped and suitable for gifting to someone special (yourself included!)
