Acrylics and Mixed Media
While trained as a classical oil painter, I enjoy working and experimenting with mixed media. Living in a picturesque setting, I am drawn to the natural elements around me: flowers, fruit, trees, and other flora and fauna. When portraying my subjects, I focus on exploring texture and expressive color.
My process begins with wide, loose strokes of paint and sometimes also a collage of found paper and fabric. The final image comes together with opaque and transparent layers of acrylics, charcoal, pastel chalks, and graphite.
